Elegance Hospitality is a group of hotels which has been very popular among tourist community. Founded in early 2000s, we have developed from our first hotel in Hanoi to the current chain of 6 boutique hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter and 1 outstanding resort in Hoi An Town. Our distinctive collection of properties will redefine the very concept of boutique and luxury hospitality.

The Elegance Hospitality Group (EHG) has come a long way since the original members’ humble beginnings running a 10 room mini hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.

The story of how we arose is inspirational. Founding owner and group Chairman Do Van Dan, and his team, dreamt of building a highly professional boutique hotel group founded on superb customer service. Through hard work, knowing how to take risks, natural instinct and a sheer love of creating wonderful luxurious memories everyone’s expectations were exceeded.

Dan, born into a poor working class family in a Hanoi suburb, was financially unable to pursue his dream of becoming an architect. He instead went to teacher training college, funding his studies by doing many part time jobs including computer engineer, mini-hotel night receptionist and even a pesticide seller. Fate intervened when he got a receptionist job in a 4-star hotel. The next few years gave invaluable insight into hotel management, HR, guests’ expectations and customer service. A plan formed in his mind.

Taking the plunge at the end of the 1990s he invested all his savings into a small 10 room mini hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. He ran this with four staff (some are still with him today). At the time, Hanoi’s Old Quarter hotel industry was a competitive “jungle” where quality and customer service were not priorities for most hoteliers. Many just wanted to make money by any means possible. 

Dan rose above this. Good customer service and high standards would define and differentiate his business. Right from the start and still now the focus is on every single detail, caring for every guest and exceeding every expectation as the team of genuinely friendly professional staff follow the “guest comes first” vision. 

The early days were very challenging, made harder because of limited financial investment. Plus, this young team was trying hard to introduce a new concept into Hanoi’s competitive hotel market. Their passion, open-minded approach and an unfailing determination to succeed paid off. Working 24/7 EHG’s foundations were laid and the team set a new trend for Hanoi’s boutique hotel industry. 

In the first decade of 2000 the Elegance brand developed - the forerunner of today’s La Siesta. A series of new boutique hotels under the Elegance brand, most named after jewels, opened. Dan and his team were now serious players in Hanoi’s hotel market. 

In the 2nd decade the business went to the next level. They closed some older hotels to refocus investment on an expanded vision and the new La Siesta brand.  In 2013, the group’s first four-star resort-styled hotel opened in Hoi An, while in 2014 La Siesta was born – a brand with a higher level of service and more luxurious accommodation, restaurants, bars and spas. 

At the end of 2017 the group’s Hoi An property was relaunched as La Siesta Resort & Spa – the group’s first five-start standard resort with 2 pools, 2 restaurants and townhouse villa accommodation.

EHG’s portfolio diversified to include the Red Bean Restaurant brand and leading spa chain La Spa (with six branches), as well as four hip rooftop bars in Hanoi – the Twilight, Diamond, Lighthouse and Moonlight sky bars.

EHG’s goal is to consistently give every guest an outstanding personal service from the heart focusing on sophistication, luxury and great memories. Over the decades we have closed older hotels and opened new ones. We now have six boutique hotels in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, one 5-star resort in Hoi An, four sky bars, leading spa chain La Spa (with six branches), Red Bean restaurant chain and three other bespoke restaurants.

OUR COURSES:

Help you achieve your potential
We have over 20 internally run training courses that occur nearly every day throughout the year. We also have four dedicated trainers in our HR department in Vietnam.  The courses we run are divided into Foundation Skills for Team Members, Foundation Skills for Managers, Technical Skills and Developmental Skills.

Foundation Skills for Team Members
These courses cover the vital areas of great customer service and allow individuals to feel more confident and comfortable doing their day-to-day jobs. We expect all employees to attend these courses. 

Foundation Skills for Managers
We expect all Managers to attend these courses. The courses are based around looking after your team and getting the best from them as a result. 

Technical Skills
These skills are for particular departments or job roles within the Hotels. These include specialist courses for all Front Office employees and the ‘Practical Training Certificate’ for people who want to improve their training skills, a qualification from an external awarding body that is recognised outside Elegance Hospitality Group. 

Developmental Skills
These courses are aimed at people who want to develop within the business but who are not necessarily ready for their next position - they will help you get where you want to go. 

In addition to these internal training courses you may be able to apply for our college sponsorship - we fund qualifications that can be attained at local colleges.
